Mr. Kirk Burns received two B.S. majors in Computer Science and Criminal Justice and a M.S. in Digital Forensics. He has worked in the IT field for over 16 years working as an IT manager and Lecturer for SHSU. Along with being a full-time instructor for SHSU, he is also the Deputy Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for the Texas Department of Health and Human Services and is an Army officer and pilot for the Texas Army National Guard. Mr. Burns holds a current CISSP certification as well as a DoD TS/SCI security clearance.
