Dathan graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science degree in 2004. He is currently working on his Master of Science in Digital Forensics degree at the Sam Houston State University Center of Excellence in Digital Forensics. His previous work experience includes: industrial machine vision development, assistant Hardware and Systems Technician for the Newton Gresham Library; and Webmaster for the George J. Beto Criminal Justice Center.

Presently Dathan is the Network Administrator and Lab Manager for the Center of Excellence in Digital Forensics.
